Boxing
You have probably heard of fitness boxing and/or kickboxing. You may have even seen the amazing results on programs like NBC’s The Biggest Loser. Boxing has grown in popularity mostly because it provides a phenomenal workout and challenges all of our senses and capacities - it is truly the ultimate workout.
A typical boxing training session stimulates all muscle groups, and provides the perfect combination of aerobic (with oxygen) and anaerobic (short-burst, without oxygen) exercise. The boxers' workout is guaranteed to get anyone into the best shape of their lives whether it’s the average exercise or aspiring boxer.
Exercises that are emphasized during your sessions include: heavy bag, speed-ball, spring-ball and medicine-ball work, skipping, running, jump-roping, weight-training (calisthenics mainly) and wind sprints.
Some of the basics you will learn include:
• Proper boxing footwork, stance
• Blocks, jabs, kicks
• Punch combinations
Boxing improves every type of physical capacity: strength, power, coordination, aerobic fitness, anaerobic fitness and endurance as well as:
• Improve speed, resistance, and strength
