Pilates

Pilates is the innovative system of mind-body exercise that was developed from the rehabilitation methods of Joseph Pilates during World War II. It can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs.

The complete Pilates Method of Body Conditioning involves exercises performed on Pilates equipment and/or mat exercises. The Reformer is a resistance-based bed-like platform with a moving carriage that slides along a wooden or metal frame. Springs and ropes provide the assistance/resistance. The Reformer teaches efficient patterns of motion by training multiple muscle groups at the same time in smooth, continuous movements. Mat workouts challenge your agility, power and accuracy of motion by using your own body as the resistance. Combining machine and mat classes yield profound results.
